(Contributed by Alberta Hualian) The seventh "Phoenix Night" celebration of the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the Mid-Autumn Festival will be held grandly at Arizona State University on September 22, 2013. In order to prepare for this event, Wang Weizi, president of the Chinese Federation of Alberta, convened the first preparatory meeting on June 23. President Wang Weizi first introduced the new organizational structure of Hualian to everyone, and exchanged opinions with everyone on the preliminary concept and activity arrangements of the seventh "Phoenix Night". The meeting was held in a lively and orderly manner. Everyone spoke freely, brainstormed, and initially sketched out a blueprint for activities to promote Chinese culture and promote Sino-US friendship. At that time, the overseas Chinese community in Arizona will hold a series of related celebration activities, including: Sino-US Cultural Forum, National Day Reception, Talent Show, Mid-Autumn Festival Dance, Youth Essay Competition and Photography Competition (to be finalized).
