This summer, hotels and air tickets are fully booked, as it is the peak travel season for Americans. If you want to save money, September is the best month to travel. There are fewer tourists and the weather is the best.

Travel websites recommend September as the best month to travel to different attractions around the world, including Virginia Beach, Disney World, Disneyland, Martha's Vineyard, Taishan Beidou, Toronto, Paris and Beijing.

Virginia Beach:

September is the peak of hurricane season, but that doesn’t mean you have a chance to experience it, especially in southeastern Virginia. North Carolina is often the area that bears the brunt of hurricanes on the East Coast.

In September, go to Virginia Beach and enjoy the pleasant weather. The temperature remains at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Plus, the summer crowds have left, and hotel prices have dropped. Expect to pay only about $100 per day for an oceanfront hotel room, including free breakfast.

Disney World: If you are willing to let your children take a few days off, go to Disney World in September so you don’t have to crowd with summer tourists, and the weather is cooler and not too humid. Flights and hotels to Orlando are also cheaper from various locations.

Disneyland: An added benefit of traveling to Disney World is that you don’t have to worry about hurricanes. Martha's Vineyard: More popular than Virginia Beach, the bustling crowds die down after Labor Day, but the climate remains mild and the island's businesses continue to operate well into October to welcome fall visitors. If that’s not tempting enough, after Labor Day, prices at local hotels or vacation rentals drop by at least 25%.

>Mount Rushmore:

The summer weather extends into September, but there aren’t many tourists. According to statistics, more than 1.5 million tourists visit Mount Rushmore from June to August every year. Like other nearby summer destinations, hotel prices drop more than 20% after Labor Day.
