Continuously falling, housing prices have begun to decline again, Arizona 9.0% (Alberta Times) After remaining stable for a period of time this summer, U.S. housing prices have once again shown signs of decline. According to data from real estate research company CoreLogic, house prices fell 1.1% from a month ago as new foreclosures increased the number of unsold houses. This was the second consecutive month of decline in house prices. House prices fell 1.1% in both September and August. Historically low mortgage rates this summer temporarily halted the slide in house prices. After home prices stabilized last winter, the CoreLogic index fell this summer. But the latest downward trend has seen prices fall 4.1% from September 2010. CorelLogic said home prices fell in 83 of the nation's 100 metropolitan areas in September. The states with the largest declines in home prices were Nevada (12.4%), Illinois (9.2%), Arizona (9.0%), Minnesota (8.2%) and Georgia (7.2%). The states with the largest increases in home prices are West Virginia (7.0%), Wyoming (3.8%), South Dakota (3.6%), Maine (3.5%) and North Dakota (3.1%).
