Trader involves 18 states, causing 29 people to be infected with salmonella The recall of Joe’s peanut butter has expanded, with the Federal Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirming that the brand’s products are contaminated with as many as 76 types of contaminants. Trader Joe’s is produced by Sunland Company in New Mexico. In addition to peanut butter, it also has almond butter, cashew butter, tahini butter, peeled peanuts, nuts and other products. They are sold in many chain food stores across the United States. Residents of this state can buy the above products at Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Fresh & Easy, Harry & David and Safeway’s Open Nature. The products under this recall were produced between May 1st and September 24th. A Sun Park spokesman said there was no evidence that other products were contaminated. However, in order to prevent similar incidents from happening, the manufacturer recalled all products produced on the same production line. From June 11 to September 2, 29 people in 18 states across the United States were confirmed to be infected with Salmonella. One thing they have in common is that they have eaten the same peanut butter of this brand. According to information, a resident of Maricopa County recently contracted salmonella infection, and the state health department is trying to contact this person to see if it is related to peanut butter. Symptoms of salmonella infection include abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, and may be more serious or life-threatening in children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.
