The U.S. homebuilder confidence index, which reached a seven-year high in December, remains unchanged, but they remain cautious about sales performance in the next six months. National Housing Association builder Wells Fargo said its builder sentiment index remained stable at 47, the highest level since April 2006. An index equal to 50 indicates a neutral stance on the market, less than 50 is negative, and above 50 is positive. The last time the index was at this level was in April 2006, when it was 51. It reached a low of 17 in October 2011 and has since moved higher. By measuring leads in December, numbers should be up.
