A woman in Illinois, USA, took her 5-year-old son and her boyfriend to rob a bank. She was recently arrested and charged with child abuse and robbery. The woman's name is Laurie Ruble, from Antioch, Illinois. She and her boyfriend, Brandon Stancliffe, are accused of robbing a Wauconda Community Bank at knifepoint on Dec. 29, 2011. Ruble said after her arrest that Stancliffe took a meat cleaver from her kitchen and, wearing a bandana, asked Ruble and her 5-year-old son to drive to the bank with her. After arriving outside the bank, in order to find out how many tellers were working in the bank at that time, Ruble entered first and asked the staff if there was a money counting machine in the bank. Stancliffe then entered the bank, masked with a handkerchief, showed the meat cleaver in front of the teller, and fled after grabbing $4,800. Later, someone reported their identities, and the police arrested them on December 30, 2011. On the 12th of this month, Ruble was released on parole after paying a $5,000 bail. She told FBI agents that she regretted taking her son with her during the bank robbery and putting him in danger. However, it was too late for Ruble to regret it. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services said it had begun investigating Ruble and her boyfriend on suspicion of child abuse and neglect. But a spokesman for the ministry did not disclose the current condition of the boy involved.
