Five people were killed in the Gilbert shooting and the gunman was a former Marine (Alberta Times) Police said that on the afternoon of May 2, a man shot and killed four people, including a baby girl, in a house in Gilbert. The man was shot in the head and died. The shooting occurred in the 500 block of West Tumbleweed Road near Cooper and Warner roads. The indoor scene was violent and it was not yet determined whether the man committed suicide. The man was in possession of several firearms, and police found two handguns and a shotgun at the scene. The shooter is said to be state vigilante Reed, and the motive for the killing is currently unknown. The four dead included the gunman’s 47-year-old ex-wife Lisa, his 22-year-old daughter April Drews and her 16-month-old daughter Lily, and her 24-year-old boyfriend Jim. The baby girl was still alive when police arrived at the scene, but died after being taken to hospital. Neighbors told the media that such an incident had never happened here before and that everyone was shocked. Jason Dee, a known neo-Nazi, is a former U.S. Marine and founder of the border militia. Reedy ran for Pinal County Sheriff earlier this year and launched a campaign for militiamen to patrol the border and scour the desert for illegal immigrants and drug smuggling.
