The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said that a magnitude 5.2 earthquake occurred in western Nevada, near the California border last Tuesday afternoon.

USGS said the earthquake had a depth of 7 kilometers and its epicenter was 26 kilometers south of Tonopah Junction, between Reno and Las Vegas. There were three aftershocks after the 5.2-magnitude earthquake, with magnitudes of 3.1, 3.3 and 3.7 respectively.

This earthquake did not affect Arizona. The USGS monitored hundreds of earthquake records from February 12 to February 13, most of which were from 0.3 to 4.0 on the scale. Nevada and California each accounted for half.

The most recent earthquake in the state occurred on January 3 this year, with an epicenter near the Utah border. No one was injured.
