The number of Arizona COVID-19 cases caused by the new coronavirus has now exceeded 2,000, with 52 known deaths, according to the latest numbers released by the Arizona Department of Health Services on Saturday.

According to the latest state data, the total number of confirmed cases is 2,019. Confirmed cases have increased by 250, or 14%, since Friday, when 1,769 confirmed cases and 41 deaths were reported.

Navajo County with 177 cases.

Pinal County with 89 cases.

Coconino County with 147 cases.

Cochise County with 7 cases

Yuma County with 14 cases

Apache County with 20 cases

Mohave County with 12 cases

La Paz with 2 cases

The most people tested in the state are young people aged 20-44, 11,826, and the number of confirmed cases in this age group is also the most 727. They are less likely to die from the virus, but they can easily transmit the virus to other older people around them. The confirmed detection rate is 7%.

Coconino County officials say there are now 139 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, an increase of 23. Two more deaths were reported, bringing the death toll to 10.

Mohave County has confirmed its 13th positive case. The case is a patient from Lake Havasu who is currently hospitalized.

Officials with the Confederation of the Navajo Nation say there are now 270 positive cases of COVID-19 in their territory, an increase of 29. Four more people died, bringing the death toll to 12.

Santa Cruz County is reporting its fourth confirmed case of COVID-19. Officials say the infected person is recovering well at home.
