4-year-old boy hit and killed in parking lot Last Thursday night, a 4-year-old boy was hit and killed in the parking lot of a Walmart store on the west side. That night, in the Walmart parking lot at 91st Avenue and Thomas Road, 4-year-old Jose Toscano Panoles was walking in the driveway pushing a shopping cart when he was hit by an SUV. The boy was not breathing when his mother pulled him out of the car. Although police officers and bystanders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, he was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital by firefighters, but he still survived. The driver who caused the accident claimed that he did not see the child at the time. Police said the driver would not face judicial prosecution. The police also appealed to parents who take their children on the streets to watch over their children and never let him/her walk freely.
