On the evening of September 17, the Alberta College of the Arts’ annual performance concluded successfully at the Hamilton Theatre. As a leader in the local Chinese community's literary and artistic circles, the Art Institute of Alberta has a wide reputation. Not only parents, relatives and friends of the students came to watch the performance, but also many audiences who came here to watch the performance and love the art of dance. This performance is not only a report and display of the students' dance skills, but also a visual feast for the audience during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The dance programs performed that day include classical dance, folk dance, modern dance, body and rhythm skills combination, and K-pop. The actors, big and small, showed off their talents, and the audience applauded continuously and received rave reviews. "Good Morning" presented by the four-year-old children was not only the first performance of this group of four-year-old children, but also their parents danced on the same stage, which really surprised the audience. The Mongolian dance and Tibetan dance in the adult dance class, and the Dai dance brought by the children were pleasing to the eye and at the same time, I felt that the vast land of China has created these unique dance arts. The widely acclaimed Dunhuang dance "Flying Musical Drums" and the classical dance "Fantasy Chang'an" made the audience not only marvel at the children's superb dance skills, but also praised the perfection of Fu Huadao and its professional level. The dance beauty of the day also enhanced the performance of the dancers, and the changing colorful lights perfectly presented the artistic effect of the dance.
During the performance, the school also held an awards ceremony. The dancers who have won awards in various dance competitions across the country in the past year were commended, and the audience collectively witnessed the honors and applause they received after their hard work.
At the end of the performance, the audience was still discussing their favorite program. The actors were even more excited to take photos on stage and backstage. Both the actors and the audience are already looking forward to the Alberta Spring Festival Gala next February.
As one of the two performances every year at the Alberta School of the Arts, all the work of reporting on the performance is completed by teachers, volunteers and parent volunteers of the school. It was all careful planning and concerted efforts, and it was the selflessness of these people behind the scenes.
