Dear students, parents, teachers and friends Two months ago, when the COVID-19 virus broke out, we were worried about the domestic epidemic and extended a helping hand. The Alberta Modern Chinese School is also actively cooperating with many local Chinese groups to contribute its share of love to our relatives and friends and the medical staff fighting on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic. Today, the epidemic situation in the United States is severe and various medical supplies are scarce. The urgent need needs to be solved urgently! Arizona State University is a long-term and close partner of ours and has provided generous support and assistance to the founding and development of our school. After ASU suspended classes due to the epidemic, some faculty and staff still stayed at their posts to maintain the school's online teaching and community services. In particular, the faculty and staff of ASU Biodesign took on the heavy and dangerous task of testing for the new coronavirus, and they all faced the problem of a shortage of medical protective equipment. After communicating and coordinating with ASU, we plan to donate medical protective materials to ASU staff who cannot leave their jobs. Here, I would like to initiate an initiative to all students, parents, teachers and friends, hoping that everyone will take action together and donate to the staff of ASU and ASU-related medical units who are facing danger during this epidemic. In the race against the disease, time is of the essence. The school decided to purchase and donate at the same time, and has already raised 10,000 medical masks in advance, worth 4,700 US dollars, striving to implement everyone's donations as quickly as possible. No matter how much the donation is, it should be done according to one's ability, and it is completely voluntary. I hope everyone can take active actions, accumulate a small amount into a big sum, gather sand into a tower, lend a helping hand, and tide over the difficulties together. At the same time, the school fundraising team will continue to actively look for other sources of supplies and will continue to donate when more donations are received. We will adhere to the principle of openness and transparency in donating funds in accordance with laws and relevant regulations, and every penny will be used for the purchase of anti-epidemic materials for ASU without reservation. Everyone is trapped in place and trying their best to survive. In order to be the light in the dark night, I hope we can all be little fluorescent lights in the darkness, slowly gathering together, like a torch, like the sun. . Thank you to all classmates, parents, teachers and friends for your strong support and loving donations. Alberta Modern Chinese School
