Last Friday (February 7), the state health office announced that the first patient with new coronavirus pneumonia in Alberta was discharged in good health. The man is a student at Arizona State University and recently returned from a trip to Wuhan. If you live outside the school district, your symptoms will be milder. After discovering the case, the health office tested his contacts. It did not specify how many people were tested, but no other infected people were found.

So far in the United States, a total of 12 confirmed patients have been found in six states, and two of them have recovered. There are currently no commercial tests for the new coronavirus in the United States, and there is no vaccine. Three ASU biologists are working on a vaccine in a targeted manner.

The Centers for Disease Control is the only place testing for the new coronavirus. The risk of infection in the United States is currently very low.
