According to the Wuhan Public Security and Traffic Management Bureau, the sections where large vehicles cannot pass include the petrochemical section of Highway 21, the section from Wangjiadun to Yuejiazui on Xudong Street, in front of the Xiongchu Avenue Public Security Department and on Zhuye. There are 17 mountain culverts, etc.; 36 road sections that are inaccessible to cars include Shaihu Culvert, Wudong Culvert, Jiuzhigou Culvert, Bayi Road, the intersection of Tuanjie Avenue and Qinyuan Road, Changqingli Interchange and Gutian 2nd Road; and 29 waterlogging areas, including Jiefang Avenue in Xuzhou New Village and Development Avenue in the direction from South China Seafood to Hankou Railway Station, have affected traffic.
The reporter saw in the section from Wangjiadun to Yuejiazui on Xudong Street that water was stagnant for more than half a meter in some places, reaching the waist and feet of passers-by. Some cars had stalled and were floating in the water, waiting for tow trucks.
In response to the impact of stagnant water on traffic, Wuhan City launched the "Emergency Work Plan under Severe Weather Conditions" and dispatched more than a thousand traffic police to the road to divert traffic.
