At 18:27 on March 31, China successfully launched the "Asia-Pacific 7" communications satellite. A piece of debris fell near the Fengzi'ao Group in Tujia Township, Shangzhai
The rocket debris emitted thick and pungent yellow smoke. Yellow smoke is nitrogen dioxide formed after the decomposition of residual dinitrogen tetroxide. Nitrogen tetroxide, with the molecular formula N2O4, is a colorless gas, a strong oxidant, and one of the rocket propellants. Highly toxic and corrosive. It easily decomposes into nitrogen dioxide, which is a reddish-brown gas and has neuronarcotic toxicity.
At around 6:34 pm on March 31, 2012, white smoke appeared in the sky above Shangzhai, followed by several explosions. A silvery-white object fell bigger and closer, and finally fell next to the Fengzi'ao Group in Tujia Township, Shangzhai.
Followed the township satellite launcher debris landing area headquarters and rushed to the scene. The entire creek was filled with yellow smoke, pungent and uncomfortable, and objects could not be seen clearly. I bravely held my breath and approached the satellite launcher debris to see the true face of the launcher debris. The launcher crashed into a creek and broke into four large pieces. Two pieces were embedded in the soil and were lying on the slope. The two large pieces rolled into the rice fields and emitted wisps of yellow smoke.
According to the reports of the villagers in this group, they saw the object heading straight towards the villagers. Some of the villagers were frightened and cried, and some picked up their children and ran straight away, trying to stay away from the falling body. With a loud noise, the giant object landed next to the group of creeks. The acrid yellow smoke covered the entire creek and slowly spread in all directions. The villagers could only move far away from the falling body and wait for the arrival of the township government cadres.
After careful verification by the township health satellite debris landing area headquarters and the county civil affairs bureau, the satellite launcher debris landing this time frightened the villagers, but did not cause any damage to the villagers' houses or other property, and the lives and property of the people in the landing area are safe.
