The suspect who threatened to make emergency diversion of Shenzhen Airlines flight was arrested. According to Xinhuanet, reporters learned from the Hubei police that the suspect who made an anonymous phone call on August 30 and threatened to cause the Shenzhen Airlines flight to make an emergency diversion to Wuhan was captured by the police at 18:25 on September 1. It is understood that the suspect’s name is Xiong Yi, born in March 1983, and a citizen of Maojian District, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. Hubei police, with the assistance of Guangdong police, captured him at a hotel in Dalingshan Town, Dongguan. Shenzhen Airlines' official Sina Weibo announced in the early morning of the 31st that at 22:29 on August 30, 2012, Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9706 received threatening information after takeoff. To ensure safety, the airline arranged for the flight to make an alternate landing at the nearest airport as soon as possible. At 23:22, the aircraft safely made an alternate landing at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport. Under the unified arrangements of the airport and the airline, all passengers have checked into the hotel and are waiting for the make-up flight back to Shenzhen on the 31st.
