Investors planned to build a business center in Tempe. A commercial real estate group spent 53.7 million to purchase Freescale's property and envisioned building an industrial park. The commercial real estate investment group has made a relatively rare investment in Tempe. The group calls this investment the Tempe Campus SPV plan: it includes the development of 50 acres of office buildings and commercial centers in Tempe, bringing hundreds of new jobs to the local area. In June, the group leader purchased five commercial buildings and surrounding land at the northwest corner of Elliot and Highway 101. Freescale Semiconductor is the seller of the land, and they also have a factory building in Chandler. In addition to selling the company's properties, Freescale also signed a long-term lease, which means that the buyer not only bought the property, but also bought the tenants. The commercial real estate group said that the industrial park will be diversified and more details will be planned in the next few months.
