In order to enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. economy and tourism industry, Hillary will announce at the 3rd Global Tourism Conference of the State Department, together with Deputy Secretary of State Nitz and White House officials, that Taiwan will become the 37th region in the world to receive visa-free treatment from the United States. A US official reminded Taiwanese media that the State Council will make an important announcement on the 2nd.

According to reports, according to the meeting notice of the U.S. State Department, more than 150 representatives from more than 50 government departments including the State Council, Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce, and Department of Homeland Security, as well as important private tourism organizations such as the U.S. aviation industry, Marriott International Group, and Disney Group will attend the meeting.

U.S. and Taiwanese officials have stated many times that the Department of Homeland Security has completed Taiwan’s visa-free verification process and will announce Taiwan’s inclusion in the visa-free program as soon as October.
