"Wealth and honor is in heaven, contentment is always happiness" The view of wealth that comes to mind Wang Zhaixian 1. The concept of "wealth and honor is in heaven": Zixia, a student of Confucius, said: "Death and life depend on fate, wealth and honor depend on heaven. " (The Analects of Confucius, Yan Yuan Chapter) We who believe in God (Heaven) should do the same. The Bible says: "Because the power you have to obtain wealth is given by God. "Also said: "The blessings given by God make people rich without adding sorrow. " These scriptures tell us that the power to obtain wealth is given to us by God who created the universe. It is consistent with our Chinese concept of "wealth is in heaven". Therefore, Christians should "seek first" his kingdom and his righteousness. They do not have to worry about the livelihood issues of "what to eat and what to wear." Regarding the general issues of Christian life, the Lord Jesus specifically warned us: "Don't worry about your life, what you will eat and drink, and what you will wear for your body." Isn't life more than food? Is not the body more valuable than clothing? Look at the birds in the air. They neither sow nor reap nor gather grain into barns, yet the God of heaven feeds them. Aren't you much more valuable than birds? Which of you can add one moment to your life by thinking? Why worry about clothes? How do you think lilies in the field grow? It neither toils nor spins. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his splendor was not clothed as a flower. You who have little faith, the grass of the field is here today, but tomorrow you will be thrown into the furnace. If God gives him such decoration, how much more will he give you? So do not worry about, "What to eat, what to drink, what to wear." These are the things that the Gentiles ask for. Your God knows all the things you need. Therefore seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 2. The Christian view of wealth: Be content when you have food and clothing. As the saying goes: "Content is always happy." Only those who are truly content can enjoy happiness. Because he can keep to himself, stay aloof from the world, fulfill his duties well, and have no extravagant expectations. Thus, a carefree life is around them. Those who compete for fame and fortune can only live a life worrying about gains and losses every day. How can they be happy? Therefore, the Bible tells us: "Godliness coupled with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of the world. As long as we have food and clothing, we must be content." King Solomon also said: " Naked as he came from his mother's womb, so he went away naked, and his hands will carry away nothing of what he has worked for." (Ecclesiastes 5:15-16) "Therefore we must not love money and be content with what we have." As the saying goes: "Money makes the grinding mill," but it is actually people who grind the grinding wheels. So the world mistakenly believes that "money is everything", so is money everything? Is money really reliable? Some people say: "Money can make everything possible", but it is not omnipotent. Yes, because money can buy a beautiful house, but it cannot buy a happy family. You can buy tickets to theaters, dance halls and restaurants, but you can't buy peace of mind. You can buy ginseng, deer antlers, and supplements, but you can't buy immortality. You can buy a ticket to heaven, but you cannot buy a ticket to paradise. The fullness of a rich man often does not allow him to sleep. People who work hard can sleep soundly no matter how much or how little they eat. In this way, it is difficult to say whether a wealthy person's money will bring him blessings or disasters. Therefore, whether you are a Christian or an ordinary citizen, wealth cannot be obtained by just asking or getting it. No matter how big or small your wealth is, you must know that it is a gift from God. Then you must thank God for His grace and use it well and manage it well, otherwise the Lord will settle accounts with you in the future. In this decadent age, everyone is trying every possible means to pursue wealth, forgetting sleep and eating, but we Christians who have the hope of eternal life should be different from them, because our hope does not lie in the glory and wealth of this life, but in the way of salvation and eternal life in the future.
