What I thought of from the Chinese school. . . . Yang Jiqun For a long time, children in Chinese schools have published many short essays. I have read almost every one of them carefully. The children's essays describe their experiences, their joys and their ideals, and are full of meaning. Childlike, childish and innocent, each exercise is marked with the tutor's surname. As an old woman who is over seventy years old, I feel that the teachers at the Chinese school have done a great thing, and the parents of the children have also done a great thing. Our motherland has a long history of five thousand years, and our national culture is extensive and profound. No matter what country we live in, or where we live in the world, we have the responsibility and obligation to pass on the great Chinese culture. The teachers of Huanghuangcheng Chinese School and those lovely parents are doing such a meaningful work. They are training their children to learn English while learning Chinese culture. His or her hard work is worthy of praise. The Chinese nation is a nation with a splendid culture. The Twenty-Four Histories record many heroic deeds, as well as many tragic changes in palaces, disasters, and battles for the right to inherit the throne. Since the Zhou Dynasty, poems, lyrics, songs, and rhymes have been as vast as the ocean, and the Tang poetry and Song poetry are even more vast, allowing us descendants to enjoy endlessly in our lifetimes. Su Dongpo, the great poet of the Song Dynasty, was famous for his "water melody song head". . . . "People have joys and sorrows, separation and reunion, the moon waxes and wanes, and this has never been the same in ancient times." It has become an eternal song. "It is hard to be perfect in the past" in nature, and human society and everyone's life will also be "unlike in the past." Dongpo layman wrote the true meaning of life and all things. Li Bai and Du Fu in the Tang Dynasty are even more well-known to every household. The poems of Li Bai and Du Fu are the expression of ambition, the emotions and expressions of the poet's conscious mind. Li Bai has left more than a thousand poems and Du Fu's poems so far, as well as the countless literati, poets and talents from ancient times to the present have left us countless poems. There are countless exquisite poems and good articles in various forms, rich in content, exquisite, subtle, mellow and smooth, profound and long. It is endlessly memorable after reading, and it arouses our association and enlightenment about the national culture, moral character, knowledge, literature and art of our motherland. Let’s talk about China’s Four Great Classics, which are also a folklore picture of Chinese society. Just one “Dream of Red Mansions” condenses the rise and fall of China’s feudal society. . . All of these are treasures in the cultural treasure house of the motherland. We appreciate them from a cultural perspective and taste these precious cultural heritages left by our predecessors. As descendants of the Yan and Huang Dynasties, we should be proud of them. As descendants of a nation rich in cultural flavor, we will be proud of them. From a historical perspective, from the Qin Emperor to the Han Dynasty, to the Emperors of the Tang Dynasty and the Song Dynasty, from the Ming to the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China to the present day, our motherland has had many national heroes worth praising and experienced many bloody storms in its long history. Children should have at least a rough understanding of these, because we are the descendants of the Yan and Huang Dynasties. I am not advocating retrospection. Modern technology is changing with each passing day. Children should and must master it. However, I think that whether they will go into medicine, study engineering technology, study economic management, study international trade, or study geological exploration, etc., they should not forget the splendid culture of their ancestors, which is a bright pearl. I very much appreciate those parents who let their children speak Chinese when they return home, so that the children can receive some traditional Chinese education from an early age and have a feel and understanding of China's fine traditions. This is a meaningful thing worthy of everyone's efforts. Thank you to the organization of the Chinese school I hope that through their efforts, great talents such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Li Shizhen, Lu Xun, Yang Zhenning, etc. can be cultivated among many children, it will be a great blessing for the Chinese people. What I said above is purely my personal opinion. Please correct me if it is inappropriate.
