Favorite: A clear mind means a wide bed. Favorite: A clear mind means a wide bed. Modern people have countless ways to treat insomnia, and various folk remedies often make insomniacs flock to them; of course, the most straightforward one is to swallow a sleeping pill. Once you have to rely on pills for treatment, there will be endless consequences, also known as "sequelae". This is undoubtedly drinking poison to quench thirst. The most well-known method is counting sheep, but it may not be effective. The following is a famous story about counting sheep. I would like to jot it down to make everyone laugh. A certain person has suffered from insomnia for many years and has tried every possible method to cure the disease. He finally heard the wonderful foreign method of "counting sheep". After lying in bed that night, he began to count carefully. One sheep, two sheep, three sheep, ten sheep, one hundred sheep, one thousand sheep kept counting; when they reached ten thousand sheep, they were so happy that all their sleepiness disappeared. Thinking about it, if each sheep is worth 100 Australian dollars, wouldn’t it mean that you have a million-dollar fortune? After having one million yuan, I began to think about how to use the money. I tossed and turned in the long night, turning left and right, the more anxious I became, the harder it was to fall asleep. The unspeakable suffering was like a person who knows whether drinking water is warm or cold. People who work as laborers are already exhausted from working all day long, and they often snore when they go to bed. Most of the people who suffer from insomnia are hard-working people and the leisure class. Naturally, a few suffer from physical health reasons, such as excessive blood and qi, or hyperactivity. People who have religious beliefs, the more devout the believers are, the less likely they will suffer from insomnia. This is the invisible power of religion. These believers entrust everything from this life to the next, personal destiny, life and death, and other matters to Bodhisattvas, gods and Buddhas in the sky, God, God, or Allah. Therefore, everything is more optimistic. As for whether believers can really live forever? Don't worry about outsiders. Believers absolutely believe that they can be protected by their idols, feel at ease, and have less worries, so they can naturally pursue their dreams in peace. Meditation is a kind of spiritual practice in Buddhism. The biggest purpose is to restrain the wild horse's heart; to calm the mind within the body and fix the mind in one place. If the mind can be at peace, it can also be calm, and it will naturally be easy to fall into dreams. Of course, this method must be guided by a master so that it will not go too far and harm the body and mind. Catholics can try reciting the Rosary; Buddhists can silently recite the Heart Sutra or the name of "Amitabha"; sincerity leads to spirituality, and they will surely fall asleep listening to the sound of their own chanting. Those who suffer from insomnia should believe in some commonplace rules: for example, do not drink strong tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks after dusk. I avoid such drinks from 3pm every day. If you persist and become a habit over the years, it will definitely help you sleep well. In addition to physical health problems, the biggest reason for frequent insomnia is that the brain is stimulated, and the nerve cells in the brain are working all the time. For example, drinking strong tea and coffee increases the caffeine in the brain, encountering happy or sad things, and the ups and downs of great joy and worry, all of which directly affect the brain and make it difficult to sleep peacefully. There are four verses in the "Heart Sutra": "The mind has no worries, no worries, no fear, stay away from disturbing dreams." It is really a "golden sentence" in the Buddhist scriptures; it is also the essence of the "Heart Sutra". If a person can achieve or cultivate to the state of "no worries", where there are no distracting thoughts in the mind, the brain nerves are calm and waveless, and the mind is calm and peaceful, then what will happen to insomnia? I have read the couplet quoted from the first couplet as the title of this article as follows: "There is nothing in the heart, the width of the bed is wide, there is dust in the eyes, and the three realms are narrow." If you can "have nothing in the mind", it is the same as the "mind is free from worries" in the Heart Sutra; don't take anything to heart, and throw all the trivial matters and thoughts into the sky. Lying on the bed, you will definitely feel that the bed is big, wide and comfortable, and you will soon be dreaming with ease. As long as you understand that there is nothing in the world and no one bothers you; as a human being, you must not seek troubles for yourself, let go of your attachments, and throw away everything, your heart will be at ease, without worries, and you will surely sleep as sweet as honey when you lie down on the bed. In daily life, work and rest times must be regular; the human biological clock runs extremely accurately, so do not disturb it. Jet lag during travel can cause insomnia, and the culprit is the human body's biological clock. Go to bed at the same time every night, and the bedroom should not be too bright or too dark. Drink half a glass of milk or eat two kiwi fruits before going to bed to help you sleep well. Don't let distracting thoughts linger in your mind. After going to bed, put all the day's affairs, unfinished work, especially interpersonal disputes and grudges behind. All big things can be left to be solved tomorrow. Firmly believe that there is no big deal in the world. If you laugh at everything, your mind will naturally be at peace. How can you suffer from insomnia? Never rely on sleeping pills. Once you become addicted, the harm to your liver will be endless. Just learn to be "mindless", cultivate "mindless" before going to bed, and throw away all the random thoughts and self-inflicted worries. Let go of everything, close your eyes, and enjoy sweet dreams as fragrant as honey, and sleep happily until dawn. On December 29, 2009, in Wuxiangzhai.
