Greeting Card Past: I, who is unknown, wish you all the same, who are also unknown. Pan Xiaogao In a sense, a person's life is supported by friendship and emotion. People are born with the desire to receive care, care, sympathy, praise, appreciation, longing, longing, support, help, etc. from their companions, relatives, friends, or people around them. These psychological tendencies are crucial factors that constitute human emotions and friendship. A person who often receives many New Year's cards from relatives and friends from his motherland or around the world as scheduled every year at Christmas, the end of the year, and the New Year must be very happy, joyful, and fulfilled in his heart. Although the advancement and development of science and technology have brought about qualitative changes in New Year's greeting cards, they are no longer the traditional gorgeous envelopes with commemorative stamps on them. The inner core is a colorful picture. They are all creations suitable for people, either homemade or purchased. The patterns can be animated cartoons, landscapes, or Chinese antique ink. The text is respectful and the words are appropriate. Nowadays, any bright and beautiful multimedia can be produced with just a few clicks on the computer keyboard. No matter whether the other party is close at hand or far away, the functions that we needed to write and mail in the past are completed in an instant. It is simple, convenient and fast. Of course, my panxiaogao@yahoo.cn mailbox is always full of food every year. But I always feel that e-mail lacks the calm and leisurely elegance that cultural people pursue, lacks the delicate and warm sentiments, lacks the graceful and long-lasting heart, and lacks the joy of receiving and reading letters. However, no matter what, what you send is sincere. It is in this sense that we say that New Year greetings are really a symbol of human friendship and warmth. This may be the value, charm and heritage inherent in human beings. Every time I receive a New Year's card from afar during Christmas or New Year, I stare at it for a long time and get very excited. Although I have reached an age where I am less easily excited. Most of the New Year cards contain one or two sentences or a dozen words, but the message conveyed is as warm and sincere as the spring breeze. It at least shows that there are still people in this world who are thinking about you and hope that you can live a better and more unrestrained life. Likewise, when I wrote the New Year's card, my heart was filled with good wishes for my friends and teachers. I sincerely wish them all the best and all their wishes come true. This year, when I was writing New Year's cards again in the United States, I couldn't help but think of an incident that happened in Shanghai three years ago: After dinner at work, I also sent some works to books, newspapers and magazines from other places. I often received sample newspapers and manuscript fees. After interacting with the mailroom a lot, I discovered that New Year's cards are far from being as pure and sacred as I imagined. Many New Year's cards even have an obvious smell of pursuing the powerful, like a flock of birds pursuing snobbery. They fly towards wherever the officials are high and powerful. From Christmas to Chinese New Year, if you list the hundreds of New Year's cards received in the mailroom every day, you will find the fact that the number depends on the official position and power. If someone still received 300 copies last year but only 20 this year, this person must have left his position of power and changed to a dispensable sinecure; once this person retires, if he can still receive two, three or five or six copies every year, it means that his popularity when he was in office was quite good. In the publishing building where I work, there are five types of people who I have never seen receive New Year's cards, namely, the janitor, the water and electricity maintenance worker, the cleaner, the carport attendant, and the laid-off worker in charge of sending and receiving. They are far away from power and cannot be too close to friendship. Nowadays, many people have been completely commercialized and profit-oriented. Although there is still worldly prosperity and secular joy outside us. But deep down in my years, I am still simple, willful and stubborn. I always want something pure, even though I will lose it again and again, I still want it again and again, just because I am naive, and because the road ahead is still shining with faint new green. Out of a heart of love and an unknown rebellion against worldly vision, I believe that everyone is equal before God, and there is no distinction between high and low. Although different situations will bring different professions and different statuses, as a person with conscience, they are all flesh and blood and have feelings like you. They are your brothers and sisters. You should respect them and care for them. So, as the New Year approached, I sent each of them a New Year's card. Congratulatory message: I, who are unknown, wish you, who are also unknown, good health and happiness in the new year! Signature: People who respect you. Put the stamp on it and put it in the mailbox on the side of the road. The New Year's cards arrived in their hands two days later. I was the only one in the building who noticed their changes, which were subtle and touching. The four cleaners were usually busy with their own affairs, but today they came together for the first time and formed a circle, with the ordinary New Year's card in the center. They were talking quietly, with a kind of touching excitement in their expressions. They looked around blankly from time to time, probably searching for someone who might send them this card. They didn't notice me, but I still felt like I was filled with honey. On this day, one of the cleaners even hummed a tune while mopping the floor. This was something that had never happened before. This experience taught me that I am still useful and can give a little comfort to those living at the bottom of society. Just like my articles, they record only small things, but they can verify my conscience. I hope that human friendship, true love and happiness will accompany them year after year, forever
