Witnessing the 20th anniversary of the founding of The Alberta Times Uncle Jia Before the invention of artificial paper in China, people had already used bamboo slips to deliver newspapers. Nowadays, making newspapers requires the invention of paper, printing presses and postal mail. Newspapers are easy to make, so there are many newspapers and magazines, including politics, economics, medicine, entertainment and religion. There are large international newspapers and small local newspapers. Large newspapers are marketed across the country and abroad, and are supported by consortiums and connections. Financial They are powerful, with modern advanced computers and printing equipment, many authors and advertisers, and most newspapers make money. Small newspapers are local newspapers. They do not have the conditions of large newspapers. They can only operate within a certain area and spread local news, such as the election of a certain overseas Chinese group, the spring banquet, the new business of a certain business, expansion, a wedding of a certain family, a month old, a birthday of a certain person, death, etc., some people may say that local newspapers "Nothing to watch" is a fact for those who don't care about overseas Chinese news and those who don't care about their own affairs. However, in addition to more news about China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in large foreign newspapers, other news has become old news to the people of Huangcheng, and "nothing to watch". Twenty years ago, there was no place to tell the time in Huanghuang City. All news in the overseas Chinese community depended on people telling each other or calling each other. Those male and female overseas Chinese who enthusiastically served the overseas Chinese community and did charity were not allowed to be photographed and praised. Later, At this time when local newspapers are in great need, the first newspaper in Phoenix, the Alberta Times, was born like Jesus. It shouldered the responsibilities above the overseas Chinese community and provided voluntary reporting, making it much more convenient for the overseas Chinese and benefiting a lot. The Alberta Times made a great contribution to the overseas Chinese community. Twenty years ago, I remember when the Alberta Times was founded, Mr. Zhen played the drums, Mrs. Zhen played the gongs, and the singer (author) Top chef Jin Yu Wenjin, painter Cao Jinqi, Forbes Chen Yingfu, Guan Zongren and his uncle Kuang Tianquan Pang, etc., made a small amount of money by performing tricks on the street. At that time, there were not many overseas Chinese in Huangcheng, and the politics of the cross-strait governments were complicated, so it was not With funding from consortiums and the government, the Alberta Times was able to maintain freedom of speech and uphold integrity despite such hardships. Later, the number of Chinese people gradually increased, and it received support from people from all walks of life in the overseas Chinese community. This is the factor that allows the Alberta Times to survive. Twenty years have passed, and the Alberta Times has weathered twenty winters and summers in the wind and rain. Now it has its own editing workshop, ten or eight computer departments, and many outstanding staff, not just a couple. The number of authors has increased from a few old overseas Chinese at that time to more than a hundred and dozens, many of whom are famous writers from all over the world. Now the Alberta Times has expanded to 20-22 pages, with a wide range of content, including literature and art, poetry pairs, travel notes, entertainment, religion, novels, etc. Talking about economics, real estate, law, medicine, opening up a student garden, bagpipe poetry club and English version, Western cooking column, etc., it makes those young writers happy, literati splash ink and allows new immigrants to learn a skill, as well as the news from China, Hong Kong and Macao provided by Xinhua News Agency. The Alberta Times has so much data, suitable for the tastes of people from all walks of life, so readers are all over the state, and there are many at home and abroad. This is another factor for the survival of the Alberta Times. Twenty years have passed since its establishment. The Alberta Times was like a babbling baby. Now it has grown into a big child. However, the big child still needs education and education. It is also like a sapling. Now it has grown into a big tree, but the big tree still needs watering and fertilization. The Alberta Times still needs the support of authors, readers, advertisers and people from all walks of life in the overseas Chinese community. It is just like "a good flower still needs green leaves to support it."
