Robbery is rampant and the spirit is like a rainbow. Vietnamese folk customs and habits are similar to those of the Chinese. The seventh month of the lunar calendar is almost regarded as the ghost month. The Ghost Festival is a ghost festival. The Bon Festival is the most solemn to liberate the souls of the dead. Temples set up altars to chant sutras and offer sacrifices. It is customary to say that the whole of July is the day when the gates of hell are open, allowing ghosts to go on vacation to the earth. Every household will burn incense in front of the door to worship, burn gold and silver clothing, paper, and tinfoil, and then scatter coins and throw fruit cakes for the ghosts to enjoy, so as to avoid the resentment of ownerless souls, reduce harassment of humans, and achieve a state where everyone and ghosts are at peace. The date was originally set for the Hungry Ghost Festival, but some Guangzhou folks like to move one day earlier on July 14, while others follow their own convenience and choose any day in the middle of the month to worship. Cantonese people generally call it "shaoyi" for short, but Vietnamese people call it "sacrifice to lonely souls" directly. Regarding the ritual of "sacrifice to orphan souls", there is an unwritten rule among Vietnamese people, which is a common rule, that is, children and teenagers on the streets have the right to "rob orphan souls". During the time when the host family set up an altar to offer sacrifices, the three animals and fruits were placed on the altar. Those who were watching and waiting to pick up the coins would make noises and menacingly, swarming up and shouting "rob the orphan souls." If the host family was not careful and neglected to be vigilant, the sacrifices might be robbed. These behaviors were unpleasant, but there was nothing they could do about it. Bad habits became commonplace, and they believed that all "living ghosts" were like this, and there was no need to pursue them. No one reported it to the police. However, as society becomes increasingly complex and life becomes more and more difficult, all kinds of bad abuses have increased significantly, and the number of theft and abduction cases has increased. In recent years, the bad habit of "robbing orphan souls" in the embankment area has also developed in disguise. Originally, only children and teenagers snatched the sacrifices, sometimes causing bursts of laughter. Gradually, bad elements started to commit crimes in an organized manner, taking advantage of the opportunity to fight and rob. They drive two-wheeled motorcycles, each with one person on board, usually in groups of two or three, roaming around to spy on prey. If they are not careful at all, they will start to snatch things away at lightning speed. If someone is chasing them, their accompanying accomplices will make excuses to stop them, or pretend to ask what happened, or deliberately collide to cause disputes, allowing the robbers to escape in time. On the birthday of the master of a family, a fat chicken and roast duck were used to worship the ancestors in the hall. The housewife turned her back and lit the incense candles. At this time, a motorcycle stopped in front of the door. The young man in the back seat got off the car and entered the house in a grand manner. The neighbors thought he was a familiar person. The congratulator ignored him. The housewife caught a glimpse of the shadow and was about to turn around and ask why. The man had skillfully picked up the chicken and duck, rushed out, and sat on the car cushion. The driver had been waiting for this moment, and the car immediately spewed out a burst of thick smoke and drove away! The housewife had no time to call out and could only stand there, dumbfounded. These methods are quite benevolent and a bit like stealing. A robbery that occurred on Ruan Chi Thanh Street last week was outrageous in its brazenness. The victim was a middle-aged woman. The loss of her belongings shocked her physically and mentally. Everyone has questioned the ability of the public security police. Why are they so incompetent that robberies occur one after another, and so many gangsters do whatever they want and act lawlessly. The victim woman, like me, lived in the 14th Ward of the 11th County. She was a devout Buddhist believer. She always liked to worship gods and pray for blessings in the seventh month of the lunar calendar. That morning, as usual, she went to the temple to worship with a group of sisters and took a bus. Before setting off in a car with seven seats, we met to have breakfast at Hao Diao Mei's stall on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street. She was wearing a gold necklace. In order to prevent gangsters from snatching it, she had to put on a high-collared long-sleeved jacket to cover up when getting out of the car. At this time, she was wearing it as she got out of the car. When her feet were on the ground and she was still wearing it, a motorcycle rushed towards her and reached out to snatch the necklace. She suddenly encountered an unexpected incident and reacted instinctively in her panic. She immediately grabbed it with her hands and shouted "Grab something!", but there were not many pedestrians in the morning. , some of the fellow travelers were still in the car, and some were already sitting in the stalls, and they were at a loss for the sudden robbery. The gangster was so bold and unafraid that he used all his strength to tear off the necklace and snatch it in his hand before speeding away! When she calmed down, the golden chain was taken away, her neck was hurt and she wanted to cry but had no tears, but she couldn't help but, alas! The only way to comfort yourself is to think of it as a waste of money to ward off disaster. According to the original plan, we continued to have breakfast at the stalls before setting off to worship at the temple. Because of the hot weather, they did not want to enter the museum. They liked to sit at a table on the sidewalk with fresh air. A few of them had a cup of iced coffee first and talked about the regrets that had just happened. Everyone condemned the gangsters who were so rampant now. They robbed and dragged each other in broad daylight, blatantly and lawlessly. At this time, the victim woman was sitting on the chair in front, holding her handbag against her abdomen, and said with a bitter look: "What bad luck, the gold chain was taken away in the morning! But it is a great luck among misfortunes. With the blessing of Bodhisattva, the handbag was not lost, and all the banknotes and important papers were placed in it." She also thought Continuing to tell the story, who would have expected that the gangster who had just robbed him would turn his motorcycle around and come back at full speed, and rush to her seat at full speed. She was so panicked and frightened that her handbag was snatched away in such a flash! Oh my God! She howled and cried, what kind of world is this? Why are gangsters so rampant!
