Phoenix City is full of energy: Festivals and Events. Recently, my husband and I have been busy with their son's wedding, and have regained their leisure space, living leisurely and leisurely. No one is too busy, and they are relaxed and happy. In fact, retirement days are too leisurely, with nothing to do, and I feel confused. It is good to be busy with some things. If there are no housework, finding opportunities to participate in various activities is the best choice. Because of this, when I have free time, I will pay attention to what activities are happening in the community. The most pleasant ones are festivals and fun, where I can find excuses to participate openly and happily. My husband and I are not proficient in English, so we can only walk in the Huayue community, which is very narrow. However, it also makes me feel satisfied. I can chat with my relatives and friends with the same voice, which is enough. What makes me happy is that in the next two or three months, there will be various festivals and celebrations in the United States. It can be said that they are connected to each other and there are frequent activities. It starts with Halloween at the end of October, goes to the long Thanksgiving holiday in November, Christmas in December, and then the grand welcome to the New Year. Coupled with the traditional festivals of the Chinese nation, such as the New Year's Day, the Winter Solstice, celebrating the Kitchen God, and celebrating the Lunar New Year, the series of festive activities, whether private congratulations or celebrations of overseas Chinese groups, fill the entire community with a lively atmosphere. I usually participate in these festivals, whether it is a joyous celebration, entertainment, or passing time. Anyway, I can have fun with others. Moreover, it is very helpful for writing. I can pick up various insights at any time and carefully select the plots that occur, which can become the subject of articles. Judging from my activities in November, they were quite a few. Since my son’s wedding reception had just concluded on Friday, November 11th, the next Saturday, my cousin Xiuqing seized the opportunity to hold an early Thanksgiving party. My aunt’s family was leaving Phoenix that afternoon, so the party was announced to start at noon and continue in the evening. Relatives from all over the country gathered together. It was a rare opportunity to talk and laugh happily. Then on Friday the 18th, I attended the Senior Citizens Association to celebrate Thanksgiving in advance. The gathering of nearly 200 people was lively and interesting. They enjoyed the singing of the Cantonese singing group, watched the songs of the Mandarin choir, and listened to the pastor's lecture on the meaning of thanksgiving and the singing of hymns. Then we all had lunch together. Everyone chatted and said hello. Because I had just been re-elected as the "Master", many seniors congratulated me again. I am truly grateful. Friends from the Senior Citizens Association told me that on Saturday the next day, the singing group had a performance at the Memorial Building to celebrate Thanksgiving. I was asked to accompany them if I was free. I couldn't participate this time because it happened to be the anniversary of my mother-in-law's death. It was my turn to organize an event, not to celebrate, but to pay tribute. The throne said that as a newly returned daughter-in-law, a golden pig should be sacrificed to my grandmother as a solemn tribute. That night, the in-laws were also invited to have a dinner together as a small reward. Then came Thanksgiving, Thursday the 24th. During the four-day long holiday, some people chose to travel, some celebrated at home, and some waited for the next day's "Black Friday" (called Mad Friday in my memory) and prepared to go to the mall to buy cheap daily necessities. As a result, the urban area of Phoenix was quieter than usual. I don’t have any plans for this long holiday. It may be that the main gatherings have been held in advance. I have traveled to many places in recent years. Nowadays, I have the concept of being quiet and waiting for the gathering of relatives and friends that can happen at any time. These two days are really just about having snacks and tea with friends and relatives, chatting about homely things. It was only Saturday, and my two elders were bored at home, and our children had their own places to go. I thought of the program at the Hong Le Building. There were choral singing, mahjong playing, and Cantonese rhyme performances. They were all useful activities. They also organized two special meals. They tasted dim sum at Duofu at noon and chose their own delicacies at the Red Pot in the evening. "Food is the most important thing for the people." Third, you can have fun with others. It’s really satisfying to be able to enjoy the festive activities!
