Phoenix City is full of energy: Group Organizations March 2012 is already here, and the Renchen Year of the Dragon in the lunar calendar has entered February. The Spring Banquet of various overseas Chinese associations in Phoenix City is still going on, showing that the potential power of group organizations is not simple, but has far-reaching significance, and is worthy of everyone's support. Overseas Chinese communities gather and form associations to inherit the spirit of unity of our ancestors. The reason why our ancestors traveled across the ocean to make a living was because the country was unstable and life was difficult at that time. If the hometown is rich, easy to live and live in peace and contentment, who is willing to take the risk of leaving the hometown to work in a foreign country with unfamiliar people? Foraging for food in other people's land, with different races and language barriers, it is inevitable to be bullied and discriminated against, so you have to swallow your anger, how dare you blame others. Our ancestors understood that only through unity can we gather strength, connect ourselves, unite through gatherings and associations, generate strength, help each other, and support the weak, can we stand firm. The formation of gatherings and associations was originally caused by like-minded people and like-minded interests. As the saying goes, "birds of a feather flock together, people form groups." The organizations first formed by our ancestors were nothing more than three categories: friendship with fellow villagers, relationships with fellow workers, and kinship. The joy of meeting people from your hometown who share the same sentiments in a strange country is indescribable. "When you come from your hometown, you should know the things about your hometown." The joy is indescribable. As the saying goes, "A long drought is met with sweet rain, and meeting old friends in a foreign land" is one of the great joys in life. Later, a hometown association is established, and local friendship is established, and everything goes smoothly. Secondly, the profession is the same. If everyone is an expert, it will be easier to communicate with each other and the topics will be endless; or colleagues who work together have frequent contact, support in times of trouble, and are sometimes bullied by the management, so they need to unite a force, and the trade union organization was born. There is also the surname clan, which is also a traditional Chinese feature. "Sir, what is your surname?" is almost the first question asked by overseas Chinese in the early days. If the other party has the same surname, they will be called brothers and they will feel more cordial. The surname is more obvious than the blood relationship between the people from the same hometown. Five hundred years ago, we were the same family. Going back to our roots, thousands of people have the same surname. Therefore, the establishment of the clan association is also a symbol of unity. Various organizations are formed in this way, and then interconnected to become a powerful force in the overseas Chinese community. However, during the Spring Festival this year, I heard an unusual sound. A friend said with emotion: "These gatherings and associations are good, but they have shortcomings. They are independent and independent. For example, if you want to join a certain hometown association, but you are not from the village, you can't attend; if you want to join a certain clan association, you are not from that surname, so you can't get in." He finally praised the organization of the Kaiping Township Association, which has the Friends of Kaiping attached to it, and everyone can participate. This friend's feelings were mainly due to the fact that the number of people in his hometown was sparse, there were not many relatives with the same surname, and there was a lack of group organizations to participate in, so he said this. On the contrary, I have also heard some opinions that the purpose of the hometown association is to connect fellow villagers, and the clan association is to unite the clansmen. The purpose of other industries, such as restaurant associations, industrial and commercial associations, writers associations, etc., is to contact people in the same range, harmonize friendship, consolidate association affairs, and help and cooperate with each other. Only in this way can it comply with the theory of "correcting names", making the name legitimate and worthy of its name. When holding a party, of course, you can invite other people to participate, exchange experiences, learn from each other, and have fun together. There is no need to attach any club, because this will become complicated and lose the original purpose of organizing the association. This is what a democratic society is. People have different opinions, different views, good or bad, appropriate or inappropriate, and everyone has their own freedom. It is not a big issue. As for the development results, whether the results are good or bad, we can only wait for the facts to prove it and let time find the answer. The most important point is whether the organization of overseas Chinese groups can demonstrate the strength of overseas Chinese communities and serve the masses of overseas Chinese. All directors of overseas Chinese associations have a heavy responsibility. A successful Spring Festival banquet does not count as a success. Although everyone is happy and applauded, they must display the spirit of unity and fraternity at any time on weekdays, support each other selflessly, do their best to solve problems, and be enthusiastic about public welfare. I am worthy of respect for everyone. Group organizations are a force that overseas Chinese cannot ignore. After years of ups and downs and accumulated experience, most of them have become stable. With the increase of immigrants, groups that were not established before are now being organized one after another. It's just that the changes in the international political environment and the rise and fall of cross-strait strength have affected the status of overseas Chinese communities, and the scope of their activities has been hindered. In the past, there was only one Republic of China, with a clear sky and white sun and red flags all over the ground. Talented overseas Chinese leaders were appointed as Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee members without any distractions or worries. Since the mainland regime replaced the Republic of China's position in the United Nations, overseas Chinese affairs have undergone great changes. The overseas Chinese organizations have gradually divided into two groups, with disputes and differences of opinion. This is the most regrettable situation.
