Super black to chase silver, American car owners love white cars the most (Alberta Times) An annual survey by U.S. pigment manufacturer PPG Industries shows that white has surpassed silver to become the most popular car color in the world. As of this year, silver has been the most popular car color in the past 10 years, but PPG said that 21% of 2011 car models were white, with black and silver tied for second, each accounting for 20%. The most popular car color is white in North America, black in Europe, and silver in Asia. PPG is also about to launch new colors in the future, such as "Barrel Gold" - a light green with a touch of gold, "Nougat" - a milky white with a shiny luster, and "Soul Purple" - a blue with purple tones.
