The border is busy with drug transportation on weekends. On the 14th, Nogalas Customs and Border Protection officers discovered 198 bundles of marijuana hidden in charcoal sacks at the U.S.-Mexico border, weighing more than 2,630 pounds and worth $1.3 million. During the incident, a 56-year-old man was arrested, who investigators believe was transporting drugs from Sonora, Mexico, to Nogalas. The suspect has been turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for investigation. On the morning of the 15th, Border Patrol agents stopped a suspicious vehicle in Tucson and seized 1,250 pounds of marijuana with an estimated value of $1 million. On the afternoon of the same day, an illegal immigrant was arrested and 611 pounds of drugs worth more than $300,000 were found in his vehicle.
