Authorities dismantled drug trafficking ring (Alberta Times) A joint operation involving local, state and federal law enforcement officers swept through the Phoenix area and Pinal County last Thursday, dismantling a drug ring. After a 17-month investigation, authorities arrested 17 suspects and seized 935 pounds of marijuana. Police believe the suspects are tied to Mexico's notorious Sinaloa drug cartel, which smuggles millions in drugs into Arizona each month.
