Tucson contractor jailed for hiring illegal immigrants (Alberta Times) A Tucson contractor who knowingly hired an illegal immigrant was found guilty of violating state law on Friday. Authorities said the offender could face not only fines but also jail time. Ivanhard, who owns a painting company in Sierra Vista, was charged with hiring an illegal immigrant, a misdemeanor, and harboring an illegal immigrant, a felony. Harder was fined $450,000 and could be jailed for six months. The case will be decided by the U.S. District Court on January 26.
