Chinese Youth Root-Seeking Journey Winter Camp (Qingdao) In-depth Experience of Chinese Culture The registration for the "2011 Overseas Chinese Youth Root-Seeking Journey in China" Winter Camp (Qingdao) sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council has officially begun! Chinese teenagers aged 12 to 18 are welcome to actively sign up. The National Chinese Youth Federation will participate in co-organizing the registration of campers in the United States. Registration will be accepted from Chinese-American teenagers from all over the United States from now on, and the deadline for registration is November 18, 2011. According to reports, the Chinese Culture Winter Camp, which will be held in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong Province, will start on December 26 and last for two weeks. Within two weeks, courses will be arranged on basic Chinese knowledge, martial arts, dance, Chinese history and culture, geographical culture, Chinese opera, ethnic music, Chinese ancestor worship and root-seeking awareness. While learning these basic Chinese cultural courses, the organizer will arrange for campers to visit the most representative cultural attractions in Qingdao, including visiting famous schools in Qingdao, Interact with local students; visit the former residences of Qingdao’s historical and cultural celebrities, understand the light of Qingdao’s science and technology, and visit the families of community residents; and the short-distance travel itinerary of Qingdao’s Best, Qingdao Scenic Street, Charming City, Blue Home, handmade and easy arrangements for the New Year’s Day Gala will allow overseas Chinese teenagers to spend a fulfilling and colorful winter vacation. According to Zhang Hongyan and Ling Ling, teachers from the Chinese Language School of Qingdao University, the organizer of the winter camp, the accommodation for this event was arranged at the International Exchange Center (4-star standard) within Qingdao University, and the accommodation and living conditions were good. Excellent teachers will be arranged to allow the children of overseas Chinese to understand the history of the civilization of the Chinese nation and the excellent Chinese culture in a short period of time, and more importantly, to cultivate their interest in Chinese culture. It is understood that the winter camp held in Qingdao is of considerable scale, and 500 Chinese youth elites from all over the world will participate. Through participation, you can also get to know each other and become friends. Qingdao winter camp is from December 25, 2011 to January 8, 2012. The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council will be responsible for the campers’ food, accommodation, transportation, and study expenses during the winter camp in Qingdao, Shandong.
