A plane crashed into a mountain in Phoenix, killing one person (Alberta Times) A small plane crashed into a mountain in the Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix on the evening of the 23rd. The plane exploded after hitting a cliff, killing all six people on board, including the pilot and his three children. The pilot planned to take his three children to southern Arizona to spend the Thanksgiving weekend. Pinault County Sheriff Babb said that search and rescue personnel found the body of a child, and dozens of search and rescue personnel spent the entire day on the 24th looking for the remains of other victims. The victims of the accident included 39-year-old pilot Perry, his two sons and one daughter, nine-year-old Morgan, eight-year-old Logan and six-year-old Luke. The three children live with their mother in Gold Canyon in Pinoy County. Their father lived in Safford, in the southeastern part of the state, and ran a small aviation business. Perry, his partner and the plane's mechanic were flying to Mesa to pick up their children and take them to Seford for Thanksgiving and were on their way back to Seford when the plane hit a mountain. Perry's partner was 31-year-old Hardy, also a pilot; the other victim was 22-year-old mechanic Harvick. Babu notified the child's mother on the evening of the 23rd. She is also a pilot and is divorced from Perry. The Federal Aviation Administration will continue to investigate this incident.
