> New law for electronic billboards has been approved (Alberta Times) The state legislature has approved a new bill for electronic billboards, allowing the establishment of electronic billboards in places where there are no astronomical observatories in the state. Although Governor Brewer vetoed the bill at the beginning of this legislative session, the House and Senate approved a revised version of the bill on Monday. The new law affects thousands of jobs in the observatory industry and advertisers who own thousands of electronic notice boards. The new regulations, which are back on the governor's desk, would allow electronic billboards to be lit in the Phoenix area and much of the southwestern part of the state, making them illegal in all other parts of the state. The billboard industry favored the original old law. In November last year, the court ruled that the existing billboard (law) had existed for decades and seriously affected the beautification of highways, so it ruled the old law illegal.
