Thunderstorm leaves hundreds of homes in Southeast Valley without power (Alberta Times) A thunderstorm Tuesday night not only brought dust, but also left hundreds of residents in the Southeast Valley suffering from power outages. A spokesman for the Salt River Project Power Company said that the power outage occurred around 6:30 in the evening, which was the time when the sandstorm was approaching. It directly affected the Queen Creek area, and 500 and 1,000 residents were without power. The affected areas were mainly between Crismon Road to Jodi Drive and Pecos Road to Ocotillo Road. Fortunately, the SRP maintenance team restored the line and powered it on about two hours after the power outage.
