A new Bushehr patient, a medical technician, has been diagnosed with hepatitis C and is accused of stealing medicines and using contaminated syringes.

A total of 32 former Exeter Hospital patients have been diagnosed since the investigation began in May. Wednesday's announcement, though, is a little different. Public health officials said the patient was being treated in the hospital's cardiac laboratory. They were treated there until David Kwiatkowski's report began in April 2011 when he was charged.

To rule out any other staff being infected, the state is recommending other hospital employees get tested.

Yatkoski had previously been transferred from hospital to hospital on two drug and theft charges in seven other states, including Arizona.

Patients in Arizona who may have had contact with Yatkoski have been notified of the potential risk of infection and have been asked to get tested. So far, all tests have come back negative, meaning no one in Arizona has contracted hepatitis C.
