Report: Cochise County Sheriff dies in drunk driving crash An autopsy report released on Monday showed that Cochise County Sheriff Larry Devar, who died in a car accident on September 18, was driving under the influence and caused the accident. The report stated that Deva, as a motorist, was walking along a gravel road near Williams when he was camping and hunting with family members that day when his car overturned and died. He was driving 62 miles per hour on a road with no speed limit. The autopsy report also showed that Deva was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Authorities pointed out that the vehicle involved in the accident contained beer and liquor. The most important point of the report is that Deva's body alcohol content was 0.29, more than three times the state's legal limit.
