Two women in Chandler were charged with abusing their mother (Alberta Times) Recently, Chandler police handled two cases of elder abuse. Coincidentally, both cases were pushing incidents caused by a dispute between a daughter and her mother. On the evening of October 5, 38-year-old Sofia Maliso had an argument with her mother, and then threw a coffee cup at her mother's car, causing the car window to be damaged. Maliso's 12-year-old son saw the incident and called the police. Maliso was arrested on charges of assault and criminal damage. In the middle of the night on October 7, 39-year-old Kimberly Hodges got into an argument with her mother when she told her not to use the clogged toilet. Police said Hodges' mother claimed her daughter threatened to kill her and punched her in the head. Hodges was arrested on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.
