Illegal? Woman charged for running food bank (Alberta Times) A Glendale woman says the city threatened to send her to jail if she continued to run a food bank in her front yard. For the past seven years, Ramirez has distributed free food to those in need in his front yard. However, the city government said that they had received complaints that Ramirez’s move had caused many unemployed homeless people to appear in the community, seriously affecting the security of the community, and that she had not applied to the city government for opening a food bank. The city says Ramirez faces fines and even arrest if she continues to operate. The Rutherford Association has now volunteered to help Ramirez, sending an attorney's letter to the Glendale city claiming the city's decision violates constitutional rights and Arizona law. The mayor met with Ramirez to learn about her food bank. Ramirez said she just wants to continue distributing free food to those in need. Comment: Although there is no urban management in the United States, you cannot set up a stall in your front yard.
