The death row inmate died in prison before execution (Alberta Times) The Arizona Department of Corrections announced on the 9th that David Anthony, a death row inmate accused of murdering his wife and stepchildren in 2001, died in a state prison. Anthony was found guilty in 2002, but in 2008, the Arizona Supreme Court overturned the conviction, saying the trial judge erred in leading prosecutors to believe Anthony had a motive to kill his family. Anthony always insisted that he did not kill anyone until 2005, when the bodies of Anthony's wife, her 14-year-old daughter, and their 12-year-old son were found in a trash can at a construction site in Baiai. In August this year, the jury again found Anthony guilty of three counts of first-degree murder, and the judge sentenced him to death in September. Prison officials said Anthony was found dead in his cell on the 9th, with obvious natural causes of death.
