Idaho Food Company recalls pigs, beef and chicken An Idaho company announced on the 19th that it is recalling 33,500 pounds of fully cooked meat and poultry products because the meat may be contaminated by bacteria. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service confirmed on the 21st that meat from B and D Food Company in Idaho may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, posing a fatal threat. The meat was made up of five different products and was sold in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Montana and Ohio. These products include: *2 packs of 5,10 lbs/case of ‘ROYAL ‘THE TEMPURA KING’ ROYAL TEMPURA CHICKEN, Fully Cooked Tempura Chicken Breast,’ Product Number: ‘A-4615’, distributed in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington; Product number: 'A-4844', mainly sold in Idaho and Montana; *30 pounds/box of 'KETTLE COOKED CHICKEN BREAST PIECES,' product number: 'A-3025-30', these sales points are in Arizona and California. The above meat production date is December 6, 2012. A spokesperson for B and D Foods said the company discovered the problem through microbiological testing, but there have been no reports of anyone getting sick as a result.
