The gun battle is already tense, but it would be even more frightening if the gun was connected to the school.
A few days ago, a freshman at Poston Butte High School in Florence, Honshu, changed the computer background to a picture of an AK-47 gun placed on a red flag when using the school computer. His teacher reported him and he was suspended from school for three days.
According to the campus regulations, students are prohibited from creating, sending or reposting, or posting offensive information or pictures. The school said that while the image does not show anyone shot in any way, the image sends a disturbing message during this sensitive season.
The father of the punished student was dissatisfied with the school's decision, "A three-day suspension for a picture?" McKenney said that he agreed with the school giving his son a warning, but a three-day suspension would make a fuss out of a molehill.
The Florence School District released a statement saying that while we cannot discuss student discipline specifically, we agree that violence on campus is a sensitive topic at this time. In order to protect our students and educate children to be careful in their words and deeds, the school district supports the school's actions.
