Three schools in Yuma were cordoned off by police Tuesday morning after reports that a student might be carrying a gun.

According to Yahoo News, a spokesperson for the Yuma Police Department told Yahoo News that at around 9:55 a.m., the police received a tip and rushed to a local elementary school (Rancho Viejo Elementary School). The school, along with two other nearby schools, Salida Del Sol Elementary School and WACOG Preschool, were placed on lockdown by police.

Students at Salida Del Sol Elementary School lined up to enter the school cafeteria, put their hands on their heads and walked in front of armed police, according to witnesses at the scene.

Students from Rancho Viejo Elementary School are transported by bus to another elementary school (H.L. Suverkrup). Parents of the students were able to pick up their children at the elementary school while police continued their investigation. Police lifted lockdowns at other schools on Tuesday afternoon. Police found no weapons.
