"Phoenix Night" is perfect because of you (Coco Report) On September 18, 2011, the fifth "Phoenix Night" Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day series of activities came to an end. Hundreds of Chinese people personally participated in this event. It was the first time that new and old overseas Chinese jointly created it, and it was a Chinese event that attracted the most attention from mainstream society in the United States. The preparations for the "Phoenix Night" Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day series of activities began a year ago, and I have lost count of how many preparatory meetings were held. When Fei Jian, chairman of the Arizona Chinese Federation (Hualian), the organizer, introduced himself at the meeting, he always said that he was a volunteer for the event. Xu Zhiping, director of the Arizona Confucius Institute, another organizer, and her husband Tang Guoming, all joined in the preparations and racked their brains to find the most suitable theme for the forum. Anyone who has participated in this forum will appreciate their good intentions. There were many important guests at the reception, all of whom were invited by Hualian and the governor’s Asian and Pacific Islander advisor Deng Chaoju. Yu Wenjin, a senior overseas Chinese leader, also gave strong support and led the overseas Chinese to donate money. He also invited more than 10 overseas Chinese to attend the on-site event. The Confucius Institute and AVNET, a large enterprise ranked among the top 500 companies in the world, Mr. Li Jun and Ms. Li Xue have invested heavily to make Da Zhao, who is responsible for finance, happy and hard-working. Contact guests, pick up guests, send guests off, put up posters, prepare food, sound, finance, etc. Every detail on the scene is an issue that needs to be discussed again and again in the Hualien preparatory meeting. Chen Zhigang and Gu Yayu of the US-China Cultural Exchange Association are in charge of the program, and Lu Lihua and Cindy, the principals of the Oriental Art School, are in charge of the dance. Wang Xinxin is in charge of food. Faced with the rising prices, Wang Xinxin tries her best to improve the quality of the food and reduce the workload of the cleaning staff. The ASU Student and Scholar Association helped receive guests and carry food. The Confucius Institute organizes a painting competition and needs to select more than 300 works. Once the works have been selected, they need to be framed and placed neatly in MU. After the exhibition is over, the children have to take home the eight works smoothly. The two hosts, Dong Bin and Cindy, are both members of Hualian, and they started reviewing drafts and guest lists several weeks in advance. After the show ended, I called the host Cindy. She was still nervous and asked, how was today's event? Will it be messy? There seems to be something wrong with the microphone, which makes us anxious. What do you think of the music at the dance, etc. There are many other volunteers who contribute to this event, too many to mention in this article. The volunteers have done so many things, not for praise, but for everyone to share the results of their efforts. At the forum, the reporter was grabbed by an engineer from Honeywell. He said, "I have never participated in an event organized by Chinese overseas Chinese. Coming to listen to your forum this time is so exciting, so exciting. I am from Taiwan, China. I hope to participate in such an event next time." At the reception, Song Tianou, the champion of the under-2 grade group, pulled the reporter to take photos of their family. Not only dad is here, but grandma is also here to participate in this happy festival. The little guy walked up to the podium very proudly and raised his trophy. At the event, there were many friends who participated in "Phoenix Night" for the first time. They either accompanied their children to watch the paintings, or came to listen to the forum by themselves, or came to dance and sing. We would like to thank the Chinese and American government officials for their support of the activities of the Chinese community in Arizona. We would also like to thank those friends who have traveled around to raise funds for this event. We would also like to thank those friends who brought their families and friends to participate in the event. It is the participation of every Chinese that makes "Phoenix Night" perfect.
