From October 25 to 28, the Mesa City Friendship Delegation and his delegation 16 People, led by Mr. Huang Zhijie, chairman of the Kaiping Committee of the Mesha Sister Cities Association, arrived in Kaiping for a four-day goodwill visit and were warmly welcomed and received by the Kaiping City Government.

Kaiping City and Mesha City became sister cities in 1994. Over the past 17 years, exchanges between the two sides in the fields of culture, education, economy and trade have continued to expand, and the friendship between the two cities has also been continuously consolidated through exchanges. Kaiping, the hometown of overseas Chinese, has a long history, beautiful environment, simple folk customs, investment promotion, and foreign trade. Kaiping City is full of attractions. In order to further promote the friendly cooperation between the two cities, deepen the cultural, economic and multiple fields between the two cities, and create a new situation of friendly exchanges between the two cities. Last November, Kaiping Mayor Huang Yaoxiong led a Kaiping delegation to visit the United States. They made a special trip to Mesa City and received a warm reception from the Mesa Sister Cities Association and the mayor of Mesa City. This time, at the invitation of Mayor Huang Yaoxiong of Kaiping and with the strong support of the Kaiping Association of Kaiping, Mesa City Sister Cities Association organized a delegation to visit Kaiping City and realized mutual visits between the two cities. This is a concrete action and performance of the two cities to further strengthen communication and exchanges and promote the development of friendly cooperative relations between the two cities.

During the visit to Kaiping City, the Mesha City Friendship Delegation, accompanied by the leaders of the Municipal Overseas Chinese Bureau and the Overseas Chinese Federation, visited tourist attractions, factories, schools, the New Bureau of Culture, Radio and Television and other places. During the exchange activities, we visited scenic spots such as Liyuan Garden, Zili Village Watchtowers and Villages, Chikan Ancient Town, companies such as Aiying Textile and Huayi Sanitary Ware, Kaiping No. 1 Middle School, Kaiqiao Middle School, and Cuishan Lake Development Zone. We also made a special trip to visit the president of the Kaiping Association of Kaiping, Alberta. Guan Zhaofeng is a 101-year-old grandmother who lives in Longwan Village, Songlang, Baihe Town, Kaiping. During the visit to the New Bureau of Culture, Media, Radio and Television, Tan Weiqiang, director of the Bureau, warmly received the guests and had friendly talks and exchanges. They were very interested in textile sanitary ware and the beautiful hometown of overseas Chinese. In Liyuan and Zili Village, members of the visiting delegation showed strong interest in the art of garden architecture that combines Chinese and Western styles and the overseas Chinese culture, and expressed their appreciation for Kaiping, the hometown of overseas Chinese, for their active exploration of watchtower resources. In Kaiping No. 1 Middle School, members of the visiting delegation had a lively exchange with the students and happily took photos with the teachers and students.

On the evening of the 27th, the Kaiping Municipal People's Government held a dinner at the Peninsula Hotel to warmly welcome the Meisha City friendly visit delegation. Mayor Huang Yaoxiong, Executive Deputy Director of the Municipal People's Congress Zhang Xingjie, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee Yan Haina, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Lin Guoning, Municipal Office Director He Wujian, leaders of relevant departments of the Municipal Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, the Bureau of Culture, Media, Radio and Television, the Education Bureau, and the Economic and Information Technology Bureau, as well as members of the Kaiping delegation that visited the United States and Canada in November last year attended the dinner.

At the dinner, Mayor Huang Yaoxiong delivered a welcome speech. Huang Yaoxiong said: "The autumn breeze is refreshing and the autumn colors are pleasant. We are fortunate to welcome the distinguished guests of the Sister Cities Association of Mesa, Arizona, USA. I sincerely hope that the Mesa Sister Cities Association will continue to play a role as a bridge and link to strengthen and enhance exchanges and cooperation between the two cities." He pointed out that the first is to promote the investment environment of our city. The second is to deepen economic and trade cooperation. We sincerely invite all guests to participate in the opening ceremony of the 6th China (Kaiping) Denim Clothing Festival held in our city to deepen our understanding of the Kaiping denim clothing industry and promote mutual economic and trade cooperation. The third is to strengthen cultural and educational exchanges. It is expected that the two cities will achieve the goal of complementary advantages and win-win development on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, expanding exchanges and deepening cooperation. During the dinner, the two parties also exchanged souvenirs.

It is reported that the two cities hope that through this visit, they can further promote the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two cities, promote economic and trade cooperation, cultural and artistic exchanges and educational exchanges between the two cities, and carry out multi-level networking activities.
