The Overseas Chinese Federation led the beauties to visit the Luo Provincial Chinese Association (2011)
>The traditional overseas Chinese community's preparations for the "Dragon and Phoenix Dance" event to celebrate the National Day of the United States have begun. The two aspects of "talent" and "people and finance" are the focus of the current work. Various talents must be selected not only among the Overseas Chinese Federation groups, but also among the volunteer teams. Volunteers are enthusiastic and talented, and come from all walks of life. Many have expertise, unique skills, and a heart of dedication. Celebrating National Day is not only an important event that closely follows the mainstream, but also a platform for volunteers to serve the overseas Chinese and showcase their talents. Only when everyone actively participates will the event be successful.
Once we have "talent", we also need to discover "people and wealth". The "people" refer to the beauties participating in the contest. The beauty pageant is the most beautiful part of the annual celebration. How to encourage the beauties to sign up is the current main task. The National Day activities have received strong support from various newspapers and periodicals. In addition to publishing advertisements at discounted prices, the "American Spanish Overseas Chinese News" and "Asian American News" will re-publish them at no extra charge. The Sunbird website and Phoenix Art and Literature Network also publish them for free. In addition, Vice Chairman Yu Wenze spent the whole night rushing to print dozens of color page beauty pageant advertisements. As soon as the volunteers received the advertisements, they immediately took action and posted them everywhere. Many of them even personally mobilized their relatives and friends. The Miss Chinese Beauty Pageant in Phoenix is different from other beauty pageants. It is not a commercial event and there are not many bonuses and prizes. The Overseas Chinese Federation hopes that through the beauty pageant training, the beauties can overcome their timidity, develop good manners and artistic skills, improve their own qualities, and build a platform for the beauties to show their talents in the celebration.
In the past two years, the Overseas Chinese Federation has led the beauties to do volunteer work, which has improved their awareness of obeying the group, serving the community, and making more contributions. In just a few months, they have benefited a lot. This is another gain for the beauties from participating in the beauty pageant. In addition to mobilizing beauties to sign up, another major task is to seek "money". There is a saying that "before the three armies are moved, food and grass go first." It is difficult to accomplish a large event without funds. The Overseas Chinese Federation is a big family. For a long time, thanks to the strong support of more than ten groups under it, the annual National Day celebration has an economic foundation. At the beginning of this event, four employees from the Longgang Office in Phoenix City immediately agreed to be sponsors of the beauty pageant. Secondly, a group of older overseas Chinese who have deep feelings for our overseas Chinese community not only sponsored themselves, but also encouraged people around them to contribute money and efforts. This is touching and worthy of praise. Currently, Mr. Yu Wenjin, Mr. Guan Zongren, Mr. Hu Shoubai, Global Buffet (Zhang Huafang), Yiwenwang (Zhang Zhaohong), Xu Guofu Insurance, Dr. Liu Quanzhi and others have sponsored the contestants (each sponsoring 600 yuan for the contestant), which gave the celebration a good start. We hope that more philanthropists can provide sponsorship and support. We believe that there will be more good news for everyone in the next issue.
