In order to attract the majority of Chinese teenagers to actively participate in the activities to celebrate the Fourth of July, and encourage them to further improve their Chinese writing and artistic painting skills, and also to help teenagers better understand the United States, and enhance the consciousness and ability of Chinese people to integrate into mainstream American society, the Phoenix Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations (Overseas Chinese Association) decided to hold a National Day composition and painting competition on the eve of this year's National Day. The specific methods are as follows:
1) Eligibility: Chinese teenagers under the age of 17 2) Entry topic: A self-selected topic surrounding the celebration of the National Day of the United States, preferably reflecting the Chinese perspective 3) Work submission time: from now to May 31st 4) Work selection: Invite 5-7 people from the education and cultural circles to form a review committee for selection. The composition selection will be conducted regardless of age groups, and outstanding compositions and award-winning compositions will be selected. The painting works will be selected regardless of age groups. Excellent works will be selected. 5) The composition should be in Chinese and the number of words should be within 1,200 words. There is no restriction on painting style. The size of the painting should be no less than 9X9inch and no larger than 20X20inch. Please indicate the author’s name and age. 6) Recognition and awards: For outstanding essays and award-winning essays, a National Day Outstanding Essay Report will be held at 4 pm on July 4th, with the author reciting outstanding works. Excellent paintings were displayed in front of the Fourth of July National Day Gala for everyone to enjoy. And recommend it to relevant newspapers and magazines for selection. The selected outstanding compositions and paintings will be awarded souvenirs at the National Day Gala, and the winning compositions will be awarded certificates and scholarships.
Composition: First place: scholarship of 300 yuan, second place: scholarship of 200 yuan, third place: scholarship of 100 yuan. The winner's instructor will give an honorary gift card. Excellent compositions will receive a commemorative gift. Painting works: The outstanding works selected to be exhibited at the National Day Gala will receive a commemorative gift. Local Chinese teenagers are welcome to actively sign up to participate.
