Eat eighty cents full, save two cents for charity - Tzu Chi Charity Fundraising Dinner (reported by "Alberta Times") Fat Circle Report) On August 18, at 6 p.m., Tzu Chi’s charity fund-raising dinner welcomed more than 90 eminent persons. They had a meal together at the Jing Si Hall of Tzu Chi’s Phoenix Liaison Office and donated generously, raising nearly US$40,000 for Tzu Chi for local charities. The Venerable Master Cheng Yen took the oath and told the guests about the benefits of eating eighty cents full, advocating food conservation and bringing warmth to more people in need in the world. The brothers and sisters of Tzu Chi even put their practice into practice, singing in sign language and singing the principles of healthy eating. They personally prepared nearly ten nutritious vegetarian dishes for the virtuous people to taste healthy food on the spot. Tzu Chi inherits four major properties in Phoenix: food, medical care, education, and culture. They distribute free food to those in need every week, provide biannual health checkups to Arizona citizens without insurance, offer Chinese courses, and promote cultural exchanges between China and the United States. Tzu Chi is one of the most standardized charities in Phoenix. The funds raised from this charity fundraising dinner will continue to be used for local charities in Arizona, and more poor people in need of food, medical care and education will be helped in the future.
