Make your own mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival - One of the series of lectures on the Mid-Autumn Culture at the New Oriental Culture Forum Make your own mooncakes during the Mid-Autumn Festival One of the Mid-Autumn Culture Lectures at the New Oriental Culture Forum, Teacher Zhang Lin is explaining the process of making mooncakes to everyone. The golden autumn is here, and the festival is approaching. The Chinese community is very lively, and people have begun to welcome and celebrate our traditional Chinese festivals in various forms. Some hold Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day receptions, and some hold entertaining tea parties. The Mid-Autumn Festival Culture Lecture Series launched by New Oriental Culture Forum, led by teacher Chen Pu, is even more unique. The first activity of the Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural Lecture is "Make Mooncakes by Yourself". Prepared mooncakes On the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival, on the evening of Friday, September 21, Teacher Zhang Lin, the wife of Teacher Chen Pu, taught everyone how to make mooncakes by themselves. Teacher Zhang Lin and two other friends brought the noodles, bean paste, and five-nut fillings that had been kneaded long ago. Teacher Zhang taught everyone on the spot how to make stuffing, press molds, and bake. Friends tasted two types of mooncakes: snowskin and baked. Teacher Chen Pu also brought a kind of top-quality jasmine tea for everyone to taste. The friends drank tea, tasted mooncakes, and listened with interest to Teacher Zhang sharing his experience in making mooncakes. Teacher Chen Pu also added a few words about the history and culture of the Mid-Autumn Festival from time to time. Principal Lu Lihua from New Oriental Art School and teacher Li Cheng from the US-China Cultural Exchange Association also made everyone laugh with some humorous words. In the end, each friend left happily holding a box of mooncakes made by himself. Next, the New Oriental Culture Forum (co-sponsored by New Oriental Art School and Oasis Culture and Education, planned by "Sunbird" Arizona Chinese Network) will be lectured on Mid-Autumn Festival culture by teacher Chen Pu. The time will be notified later, so stay tuned!
