>Alberta Spring Festival Gala, a feast of the Year of the Snake, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, with constant surprises. The New Year has passed and the Year of the Snake is approaching. The Alberta Spring Festival Gala will meet you again on the first day of the Lunar New Year in 2013. This year’s Spring Festival Gala will still be jointly hosted by New Oriental Art School and the ASU Confucius Institute, and has received the widest support and recognition from all walks of life in the Chinese community. Currently, the Spring Festival Gala performances have entered the countdown stage. More than 200 cast and crew are working together to turn this year's Spring Festival Gala into a large-scale variety show integrating vocal music, instrumental music, dance, martial arts, and skills. This year’s Spring Festival Gala is rich in content, diverse in form, and highly comprehensive and entertaining. In addition to New Oriental's own programs, American communities, Chinese communities and Chinese artists will all join in the performances. This year’s Spring Festival Gala will also have new breakthroughs in lighting, sound, and stage design. The audience will see the perfect combination of traditional Chinese elements and modern Western elements in this party. Many programs are original creations of teachers and students of the school. The opening dance "Dance of the Golden Snake" was a creative idea decided by the school as early as last Spring Festival. More than 90 actors will vividly express the joy and celebration of the Year of the Snake in traditional Cantonese music. As for how to express the image of the golden snake in dance? It’s being kept secret for the time being, and the audience won’t know until they watch it. The dance "Meeting in Obo" was choreographed and directed by the dance teacher of New Oriental Art School. The music is taken from Daolang's version of "Meeting in Obo". It not only retains the love between Mongolian children in the charm of folk songs, but also uses modern choreography techniques, which is more in line with the aesthetic tastes of the mainstream public. At the same time, Mongolian dance boys dance masculinely, and girls dance handsomely. The balance of strength and softness combined with the lifting skills of the pas de deux is unique. What's even more special is that the actors are not only Chinese, but also Americans and Japanese. The Xiaoxiao class is also very international, and the age range is also very wide, from those in their twenties, to their forties, and even to uncles in their sixties. Dance is of course the strength of New Oriental Art School, and it is also a repertoire of the annual Spring Festival Gala. In addition, there are also vocal music, instrumental music, martial arts and other programs that are more anticipated. For example: girls playing violin while walking, Kung Fu performances by Shaolin masters, lively martial arts stunts, funny music skits... very exciting! What's more worth mentioning is that the American children's choir will also join this year's Spring Festival Gala. More than 80 American children will sing Chinese songs composed by New Oriental teachers themselves. What will it be like? Last year's Year of the Dragon Spring Festival Gala held at the CHANDLER Grand Theater set a box office record for the theater. After all the tickets were sold out, people kept calling to ask for tickets. On the day of the performance, many audiences were waiting outside the theater. It can be described as an unprecedented event. I believe that the audience still remembers the grand occasion of last year’s Spring Festival Gala, so let us look forward to the upcoming Spring Festival Gala of the Year of the Snake!
