(Alberta Times Zhou Yishen) At 10:30 pm on February 17, 250 colleagues in the catering industry of the Chinese Restaurant Association of Alberta (CRAA) gathered at Luk Fook Restaurant to celebrate the Lunar New Year banquet and gala. The Luk Fook Restaurant was decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations, and the twenty-five tables of banquets carefully arranged were packed with people. Guests including David, director of the Maricupa County Health Department, joint purchasing partners and other guests were invited to attend the event. The atmosphere of the party was warm and festive; the program was rich and colorful. Lucky draws, dances and other programs pushed the party to a climax. At the beginning of the party, Guan Zhaofeng, the president of the association, delivered a speech. President Guan summarized the work of the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association over the past year. He expressed his gratitude to all members for their sincere unity and support for the work of the association, and looked forward to reaching a higher level of work this year. Then, the leadership of the association made a collective appearance to wish the guests a happy New Year. President Guan Zhaofeng and directors Deng Chaoju, Gao Zhizhong, Zhang Huafang, Yang Zhengang, Mei Shude, Lai Jiayi, Xu Guofu, Wu Yizhao and Lu Shaoming toasted to the guests. In addition to carrying out its work in the industry, the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association also cares about the development of the children of its members. The leaders of the association encourage the children of members to study hard, be positive, strive to integrate into the local society, and prepare to contribute to society. The association specially selected five children of its members who have excellent academic performance and provided each of them with a scholarship of US$300 to encourage them. They are Bi Kaixian, the child of Bi Guangtao and Su Lijuan of Golden Rice; Deng Xin'er, the child of Wokee Express Deng Yihe and Huang Minjing; Zhang Jiaying, the child of Zhang Mingyu and Zhang Huafang of World/Jumbo Buffet; Du Jianfeng, the child of Lucky's King Wah Hua Shaoling, and Hu Keyi, the child of Hu Chengqing and Mai Huixia of Pink Lotus Express. The achievements of the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association are inseparable from the support of government departments. In order to express their gratitude and respect for the support of the government departments, the founding president Deng Chaoju and the directors presented the Chinese quintessence cloisonné craft vase to David, director of the County Health Bureau, on behalf of the association. There was a good show at the party. The dances "Good Harvest" and "Jasmine" performed by the Fengcheng Chinese Christian Church Dance Troupe added color to the party and enlivened the atmosphere of the party. The lucky draw at the end of the party brought the party to a climax. The party organizers prepared daily necessities including olive oil, vitamins, tea, coffee machines and other prizes as prizes. The sound of trumpets, responses to trumpets and laughter came one after another, making the party lively. Although it was almost midnight, colleagues in the catering industry were still in high spirits and laughing after a busy day. While enjoying the delicious meal, the guests kept in touch with their colleagues and chatted about home life, which showed the cohesion and affinity of the Alberta Chinese Restaurant Association, a big family in the catering industry. At 0:30 in the morning, the two-hour banquet and gala ended with the farewells of guests and friends.
